  • Relate appropriate activities for preschool aged children to the Mathematical concepts found in the CA Preschool Learning Foundations and Curriculum Framework.
  • Describe and demonstrate how to appropriately engage young children in activities that promote children's development of Math and STEAM/STEM concepts from the Preschool Learning Foundations in Mathematics.
  • Recognize open ended play materials that offer children opportunity to learn/explore/practice math concepts.
  • Propose appropriate ways for teachers to take advantage of teachable moments when children are engaged in self-directed play with classroom materials.
  • Identify steps to implement in their own work as a result of participation in the training.
