  • Monitor LPC’s compliance with CDE mandates and fiscal solvency
  • Oversee implementation of funds related to LPC activities and mandates
  • Disseminate Comprehensive Countywide Child Care plan to interested parties including the Board of Supervisors, County Office of Education, Board of Education, businesses, government, parents and community agencies
  • Review and revise meeting and subcommittee format as needed

 

Project Advisory

A Chair will be elected for and by each Committee and
appointed by the Planning Council Chair.

  • Community collaborative projects that meet Local Planning Council goals and objectives
  • Advise implementation of AB212 and other governmental and private funding
  • Analyze outcomes of Project Advisory Committee projects and make recommendations for future direction
  • Share project information with Local Planning Council board members and other appropriate committees or stakeholders

 

Nominating

  • Request nominations for LPC officers
  • Do a slate of proposed officers
  • Present slate of proposed officers to the council for voting at the May meeting
  • Develop council activities and events that promote peer relationships for new and prospective council members

  • Advocate for workforce issues
  • Develop LPC as a resource on current legislation regarding child care issues
  • Plan and organize LPC’s Annual Young Children’s Issues Forum
  • Join forces with CCDAA, Children’s Defense Fund, NOCA, CAPPA, PACE, AEYC, FCC and CalSAC associations

 

Speakers Bureau (SB)

  • Develop SB Presentations (customized to different audiences) and presentation packet (handouts and other supportive data)
  • Recruit SB presenters
  • Develop list of targeted key audiences
  • Host monthly SB meetings to debrief presentations, coach presenters and plan new events/topics
  • Develop and implement a marketing campaign

 

Membership/Recruitment
