Disclaimer: Data on child care supply and demand reflects the number of children needing licensed care and percentages of licensed spaces in the county. Demand for child care for children ages 0 to 2 years, 3-5 years, and 6-12 years old is based on ABAG population projections by age. It shows the current supply of licensed child care by type of space and calculates surplus or shortfall of child care with the exclusion of programs providing licensed exempt care which include and are not limited to City governments, school districts, family members, friends, nannies, and other un-licensed care.
For example, the City of Orinda provides before and afterschool child care at all school sites.
